Isabel Alvarez Lavin (July 21,1910 - March 29, 1989) Anesthesia nurse and midwife at Gonzalez Clinic in Ybor City and long standing member of El Círculo Cubano. Isabel is the wife of Luis Lavin, Jr. She is Raul Lavin’s sister in law. Shared by her maternal granddaughter, Karen Niles Lavin

Victoriano Manteiga y Rios (1894-1982), founder of La Gaceta in 1922. Active in El Círculo Cubano de Tampa as was his son, Rolando Manteiga and is his grandson Patrick Manteiga, current Editor and publisher of La Gaceta
Rolando Manteiga, Publisher and Editor of La Gaceta with Ray Cuttle, family member of the original owner of La Tropicana, Rolando was active in El Circulo Cubano de Tampa, and in its’ restoration projects. El Teatro is named in his honor. He is Patrick Manteiga’s father.

This was "Mama Inez" Paula’s chal/mantilla from Spain. Her husband, Eladio Paula was the first President of El Círculo Cubano de Tampa. It is 150 years old. A Spanish mantilla of my bis-abuela (geat grandmother, "Mama Inez" Paula) It hangs with pride in our home in Virginia. submitted by Lloyd Carrera Santos

This is my uncle, Tio Oscar Constancio Carrera, 1913-2004, born and raised in Ybor City. This is his club membership photo as found in the archives of USF. His son Neil Carrera lives with his family in Georgia and his sister Denise Carrera lives in Tampa. Submitted by Lloyd Carrera Santos
Jose “Joe” Miguel Santos
This is my Tio Jose “Joe” Miguel Santos, 1917-1998. This is his club membership photo. He was my mother’s older brother. This photo is from the Archives of USF. Both his sons Alan and Michael Santos live in the greater Tampa area (submitted by Lloyd Carrera Santos).

This is my Tio Geraldo “Jerry” Santos, 1912-2002 grandson of Eladio Paula, 1st President of El Círculo Cubano de Tampa. This is his club membership photo found in the USF Archives. I am guessing 1930’s? He was my mother’s older brother. His daughter Sarah Santos Gardiner lives in Tampa. His son, Gerold Wayne Santos also lived in Tampa (1945-2014) submitted by Lloyd Carrera Santos
Francisco “Frank” Carrera, Jr.
This is my Tio Frank, my father’s older brother who was born and raised in Ybor City (1903-1997). This is his club membership photo found in the USF Archives. Frank worked as VP of Gradias & Annis cigar factory. He helped many of my family members to gain employment in this cigar factory. Especially his baby brother, Luis (my father) who worked there until he retired.

Arnold “Nardi” Martinez
Arnold “Nardi” Martinez, famous artist of Ybor City landscapes. Well known for his painting using, Cuban coffee, and tobacco leaves. His painting of El Circulo Cubano, with Cuban coffee, hangs in the Cuban Club’s main office. Nardi is the cousin of Raul Lavin and Lloyd Carrera Santos www.arnoldmartinezgallery.com

Salvador Martinez Ybor, 3rd President of El Circulo Cubano de Tampa. His nephew, Rafael Martinez Ybor lives in Temple Terrace.
Willie “La Cracka” Evors
Pictured second from the left is Willie E. Evors (1926-1969, aka Willie “La Cracka” Evors, (married to Ella Cruz 1927-1993 of Ybor City), father of Mambi Dr. Edward J. Evors (Doc). Picture was taken in El Patio in the 40’s or 50’s when they use to go to dances at El CC. Last on the right with straw hat is boxer Oscar Rodriguez aka “ Chancleta” Next to him is Roger/Rogelio Garcia.
(1898-1977) Founder and President of Fulgueira & Son cigar molds, manufacturing company located at 1212 26th Avenue in Ybor City. His son was Gonzalo who continued operations after his father died.
